I have a friend I am trying to help out and I wanted to see if anyone here knew of a practice pen close to Charlotte. He is a good guy and I really want him to get the chance to improve.
So if anyone has any info, I would be grateful.
Thanks Char

It kind of depends on HOW close to charlotte you're looking. I know there's a practice pen in Gray's Creek (which is 3 hours away) and runs all year long, But there are a LOT of ranches and stock contractors in the greensboro/triad area (thanks to Jerome Davis) and they're bound to have practice pens. SEBRA (www.sebranow.com) and MAPRA (www.MAPRARodeo.com) are both really active in this area (in fact, there's a SEBRA bull riding event almost every night of the week during the summer (Raleigh, Dugspur, Va and Statesville on tues, wed & thurs) and I'm sure someone there can help direct you to practice pens. and there's weekly bull riding in King, NC (www.eastofmesquite.com) which runs all winter also.
Hope this help Heather

Hey Char, I have just recently found out about a new practice pen that also has bull riding through the winter, and is REALLY close to charlotte. They're in Rockwell, NC which is less than an hour from the heart of Charlotte. The only place I know you can find them online is on myspace www.myspace.com/circlekrodeothey have a bull riding this coming weekend (the first sat of the month) which I'm planning on going to, but they also have a practice pen on thursdays.

Heather, Great! Thanks for the info. I will pass it on. I don't get out to that part of the world too often, but it sounds like it would be worth the trip. My friend may want me to go with him.... silly cowboys! I can't make it this weekend, but maybe after the holidays.
I will definitely let you know if I can get out there!
Thanks again! You're the BEST!
Char
