They are great with beginners. They are very laid back and willing to take things slowly if needed.

Dee,
I will try to make it also. I would love to meet you in person. I'm not sure what I will be wearing that day (my white jewbullropes shirt is for rodeos), but you really can't miss me. There will be quite a few kids there, but don't let them BS you, if you know what I mean...LOL I am hoping one of my guys will be able to make it. Last week he had car trouble. He needs to prectice for an up coming rodeo in Huntingdon, Pa. He is over riding his bulls, and I need to see why. I haven't watched him ride for a while, so I need to get to Jbar D to see what he is doing wrong.
Take care and I hope to see you there, Matt

Hey Matt,
It would be GREAT to see you there and meet you in person. Maybe you could give me a few pointers. BS'in kids? Watcha mean? Im just there to ride some bulls, some beginner ones to start me into the season, havent had the oppertunity to ride much so i feel thats where I should start. Anyway maybe you can give me some riding pointers, a whole year ago May I went to a school and only got to get on 2 bulls and in 2 days... sucked. So Im really lookin foreward to it and if I enjoy J bar D i'll be back to ride more even though its a haul for me. Hope to see you there.
~Dee
P.s. Bring the rope John made you, I'd sure love to see it and compare it to my own.

What I meant about the kids is, they are teenagers and they like to think they a big shots because they "get on". Sure I would help you out. I have a excercise if you are having trouble with keeping your toes out.
I will have my gear there so you will be able to see my rope.

Hey Matt! I'd like to know a little more about that exercise you have to keep your toes out. It would be a good thing to pass on. E-mail me or just post here. I'd really like to learn about it. I sometimes get lazy about pointing the toes out. Although that is not an issue for me right now (I'm naturally duck footed so that is probably the only benefit from that LOL), but it would be a good thing to know if anyone has that problem.
Thanks Char

Char, Here you go. Take a basketball and put it up high in your thighs, squeezing it with your thighs and your toes OUT. Take a cooking timer and set it for 20mins. and wall with the ball like I just discribed. If the ball even slips a little, reset your timer and start over. Do this at your knees next and then at your ankles. Take about a 15 min break in between each section. I would do this about 2-3 times a day depending on how much trouble you are having with your feet. Remember it is important to walk while doing this, just standing there won't do you much good. If there is any questions on this feel free to call me Char, or for anyone else just ask and I will try to clear things up. Matt (central PA coach)

WOW! The J Bar D ranch is awesome. I rode at the practice pen on Sunday and never have I learned so much or had such a wonderful oppurtunity to meet so many WONDERFUL and AWESOME people. I got on three times, both bulls were good size, Diesel was amazing, big and honest as a bucking bull could ever be! Five stars for the J Bar D ranch and its people, exspecially Jeff and Lacey, they are simply wonderful people. Thank you thank you for such a wonderful time!

Nope, sure didnt, but i rode hard got a good 6 seconds on my last ride. Unfortunetly my second ride the bull came outta the gate and slammed his side against the chute on the way out and smash me against it. Im going for x-rays of my foot tomarrow, my toe is black and blue and huge. Im not sure its broken or not. But anyhow, nope no 8 seconds but I was very pleased with how well I rode, I'd never been on bulls so big. It was awesome. Whats the rodeo your going to in July? If I didnt break my foot im gonna be lookin to get into some.

It's a rodeo in Hemlock NY there is another one in Angelica the same day. www.brokenbrodeo.comEntry fee is $100. But, $150+ if you don't have a membership. You have to have a membership before you enter. I believe I broke my toe while I was playing soccer barefoot with my sister, it still hurts a little. If you bend it too much. It doesn't bother me, so I don't care.

Dee, I am glad you had a good time. Sorry I got there late, I had fun non the less. I hope to have insurance the next time you come down so I can get on as well. If I didn't have two young kids I would have gotten on, but I have to be resposible now *choking on morning coffee*. Besides I will have a 2" offset rope I will have to try out. I hope everyting is alright with your foot and you'er not too bruised up. I was good to meet you. Take care, Matt

Glad to hear that nothing is broken. Things like that will happen riding bulls. I have a decent sized folder of x-rays and things.....LOL I can remember pretty much always being sore. of coarse we would practice about 4 times a week on at least three bulls each practice. I was ALWAYS getting kicked or steped on...LOL
Take care, Matt

Gah... thats too much for my blood. As tough as I'd like to think I am that'd be waaay too much for me a week. But with my busy life Im glad to have gotten my chance to ride this weekend, might be later in the season before I get to again, things are tight with high gas price and everything. I am gonna try to get into a local rodeo eventually, just to say that I did before I throw in my hat. I love building bull ropes as much as I do riding and I know that my days of riding are going to be short but remembered for ever even as I continue braiding long after Ive stopped riding. But anyway, take each day as it comes.
Hey Matt, dont forget to send me a copy of that video, it was really great. Alittle better of an angle then what I got because my friend shot from behind the chute. Thanks a bunch! Anyone get any still photos of me do you know?

I'd love to ride 5 days of the week eachweek. I could do it everyday.
I have a question, I have been having hard time focusing, then I just almost look at nothing and fall off. How can I focus better?
Thanks, Ali
